First Customers!

Just about an hour after flipping the switch, I had my first customer!

On Friday the 8th of May, I decided to bite the bullet after much work, mental back-and-forth and self doubt and I flipped the switch and merged into main.

It was a bit scary because I was afraid things were going to break, but the good and thoughtful preparation paid off, and things worked smoothly.

Just after the merge, I started transitioning existing job data through the AI pipeline, and even before the transition was over and the site was fully locked down (meaning no free apply-links for jobs), I had my first customer 🥳!

It felt unreal, and still does. This isn't how it's supposed to go, is it?

But it is! I have built a product that delivers value. I have grown it for years to gather steady traffic, and this is the result of the convergence of distribution, value, and pricing.

It's not perfect, but it's good enough for now.

Later that day, I had another customer purchase the 7-day plan, and yesterday evening one customer bought the more expensive Monthly Access.

I still can't describe the feeling, and even though it still doesn't feel like it's real, or that it'll last (because it is early days), it's empowering to experience getting money from strangers on the internet in such an impersonal way in exchange for something I have created.
